UPDATE: THANK YOU to All Our Bulb Swap Partners and Attendees!

Thank you to all who participated in HCED’s bulb swaps on August 10th and August 17th! Over the course of two weekends we exchanged over 700 bulbs at six locations throughout Howard County. Replacing 700 60W incandescent bulbs with 700 efficient LED bulbs equates to roughly $850 in savings per year! Way to go Howard County!

HCED would also like to thank its local partners for helping us organize and pay for this event. Bulbs for the swaps came from Ruppert’s Ace Hardware and Fisk’s Farm & Home, both of Cresco. Host sites were Polashek’s Locker in Protivin, Elma Locker & Grocery in Elma, the City of Lime Springs, Riceville True Value, Fisk’s Farm & Home, and Ruppert’s Ace Hardware. We’d also like to thank MiEnergy Cooperative for awarding us $100 in funds from Operation Round Up to help us pay for the event. Without the help of all these groups we would not have been able to have such a successful event!

We have a few bulbs leftover so if you weren’t able to attend any of our bulb swaps and would like to exchange some bulbs, please contact us by email (howardcounty@energydistrict.org), phone (319-239-9162) or by filling out our Contact Form. You can also find these same bulbs at various local stores for a very reasonable price, so please stop by and thank them for helping us out by buying some bulbs!
