“Bright Bags” in Howard County
Helping Howard County residents save money
At the recent food pantry distribution, HCED provided “Bright Bags” prepared by Green Iowa Americorps members at Winneshiek Energy District to the first 75 food pantry clients. Each bag contained at 4-pak of energy-saving LED light bulbs, plus information on LIHEAP (the federal home energy assistance program), First Step Home Energy Assessments, and the importance of LED bulbs. LED bulbs can reduce a home’s electric bill, saving money that can be used for other necessities.
